He was educated at Glasgow University (MA) and Heriot-Watt University (BSc) and served for 14 years with The Queen's Own Yeomanry.
Angus has since 2003 managed Corsewall Estate to the north of Stranraer. His interests range from architectural history, field sports, improving public access, gardening to promoting the wonders of Wigtownshire to anyone who will listen. He is currently a governor of Belhaven Hill School and a member of the Royal Company of Archers.
He was born in 1966 in Stranraer is married to Kate and they have three daughters.
