In time, Elsie felt a calling and began training as a full-time Word and Sacrament minister in the Church of Scotland. Five years ago, she came to Dumfries and Galloway and now serves as Minister of Upper Annandale Parish Church, working across Wamphray, Johnstonebridge, Beattock and Moffat.
Elsie loves getting involved in local life and enjoys connecting with people through community activities. Since arriving in the area, she has thrown herself into a wide range of initiatives from visiting local schools and nursing homes to spending time with the Men’s Shed and the RAF retirement home at Dowding House.
Married with two children, Elsie is especially passionate about encouraging young people to get involved in church life and helping the church become a welcoming hub at the heart of the community.
