David is involved in all matters to do with the countryside and is a former Chairman of Scottish Land and Estates (SLE), a group which represents landowners and rural businesses across Scotland. David is also a board member of NatureScot and this ties into one of his interests which is the environment. He also likes to play golf.
David has four children and lives at Raehills with Sarah.
