She was also jointly in charge of safety and security at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
She received the Queen's Police Medal for her contribution to policing and community- in particular, for her efforts to try to protect vulnerable people within local communities.
Since retiring from the force, she has volunteered. She sits on the Crichton Trust board and has chaired public protection committees. In her spare time, she is a keen curler.
