Chief Superintendent Steven Meikle said: 

Each person has made a significant contribution to our local communities, be that preventing and detecting crime, supporting victims, or showing support and compassion to help others.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Dumfries, Fiona Armstrong, who attended the awards said: 

We can all be very proud of the work that our policemen and women do across the region. The teamwork and commitment shown by the winners is greatly inspiring.
